Vanessa Harrington - R. Kin., B. A. H. Sc. Athletic Therapy CAT(C)
Owner/Certified Athletic Therapist
Vanessa is an Athletic Therapy graduate from Sheridan College with a passion for promoting a healthy, active and safe physical lifestyle. Her passion for sports started at a young age through soccer, downhill ski racing and equestrian. Through injuries she knew at an early age that she wanted to help people return to the things they love rapidly and effectively. Using various assessment and treatment techniques such as Craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, mobilization and soft tissue release along with traditional treatment methods she is able to find the most effective treatment plan for each individual. She is focused on having each client be an active participant in their rehab program. Ensuring they have an understanding of their condition and educating them on why and how the treatment plan will help them return from their injury as well help prevent further injury. Over the years she has worked with various clients from elite athletes to the weekend warrior, on the field and in the clinic.
She has had the pleasure to work as Head Athletic Therapist for Algonquin College since 2011, providing field and active clinical coverage to all varsity athletes. Since 2012 she has taught Sports Injury and Exercise Safety in the Fitness and Health Promotion Program at Algonquin College.
Continuing her passion in equestrian she is the proud owner and therapist of Equine Head To Tail Healing, providing horses and their owners an alternative to traditional treatment for their mount and themselves.
